About

Helen Morgan is an emerging artist from Sydney, working in the fields of printmaking, photography and installation. Her work explores our relationship with the overlooked objects that surround us, informed by Helen’s upbringing in her century-old maternal family home in Western Sydney, and her Egyptian-Australian heritage.

In 2018, Helen was awarded The Jenour Foundation Fine Arts MFA Scholarship and The Mark Henry Cain Memorial Travel Scholarship by the National Art School. In 2019, the latter of these saw her pursue independent research in Europe, developing her practice through residencies in remote locations, including Cill Rialaig, Ireland, and on the tiny Hebridean island of Iona.

Helen returned to Sydney in 2020 to complete her master’s degree in printmaking at the National Art School.  Her work has been featured in EMANATE! at the New England Regional Art Museum (2019), Edition Three at Bankstown Arts Centre (2022) and was a finalist of the Clyde & Co. Art Award (2019). She has recently been an artist in residence at Gallery Lane Cove, Sydney Catholic Schools, and Loreto, Kirribilli.
